I am not getting something. The elderly people in your compartment forgot to lock the door? Were they the last ones to use the door before that person snuck in at 4 AM? Or other compartments?

In German train stations do they also make announcements in English or just in German because if it’s just in German, then I would be finished. I can’t even imagine my anxiety in that situation.

This is bad standards for Chinese home train system. I mean for inter city commuter trains. Not even close to what we have 10 years ago.

One can only determine whether this is a good decision maybe after 5 years. I will NEVER fully trust Chinese made product particularly in technology & innovation. Wont be mentioning the country, but they ordered Chinese made trains, it was ok the first 2 years then it started leaking, rain starts coming inside then among other things & it was so hard to get people from the company to repair it. The company abandoned the agreement in terms of servicing. Sure it is cheaper, but you sure will pay for it. I rather go for the tried & tested companies from either Korea & Japan for example.

I am curious as to how this service is financed. Only 2 cars at $1.50 for a one way trip. I would imagine the overhead is pretty high relative to revenue. I wonder if Princeton University provides some of the financing to keep the service running. Its great that its running and gives thousands of students and faculty access to the transit system. Plus its a historical landmark due to Albert Einstein's association with it.

As a Santa Fe resident, I can say you won't find anything amazing or optimized here. Very old and very poor part of the USA. The "Thunder Chicken," as some people call it, is a staple of our city.

Though I never rode it, I remember having seen the TUI FerienExpress a few times in the 1980s. The rolling stock was custom built end of the 1970s including couchette cars of elevated comfort and "TUI treff" cars that could be used as snack bar and for onboard entertainment. Unfortunately the service ended 1993, the TUI treff cars didn't survive, the couchette cars went to NS, then to EETC and finally mostly to MSM, they are still used in seasonal night trains. TRI has bought at least one and repainted it to a livery similar to the state as built, but that one has not yet been seen in service yet. If TRI goes on refurbishing ex-TUI cars, maybe they'll be used in the TUI Ski Express sometime in the future ... then it goes full circle.

Albuquerquean here. The main problem with that rail system is that there really is only one stop that has good public transit access and that is the Downtown ABQ stop where you can access the ART and the ART really only gets around downtown, nob hill, and uptown. Most of the stops will leave you stranded. Now, if you have a bike you can get around pretty well, but even that is limiting. What I’ve been hoping is that ABQ and Santa Fe would beef up their public transit, but work on that has been slow and housing continues to focused on sprawl rather than density. I believe regular local Commenters are key to any sustainable public transit and right now they need to have a car to conveniently get around the city. That other stuff sounds cool, but I’d still not ride it because what am I going to do when I get to Santa Fe without a vehicle?

Honestly while it will be more convenient it will take some time to adjust to it. The trains in nyc go fast sometimes to where you feel like its going to de-rail. With things like thst in mind aome peoplw will initially be anxious about taking such a fast train. Id say through out whole country it would take many citizens time to adjust to it and feel safe.

The train looks great interior and exterior, but the cabin sound control could be the problem, how reliable for the next few years, time will tell.

Half of the seats in the carriage are facing away from the direction. Will this make some passengers feel uncomfortable? However, I like this train restaurant and food very much. I hope that Chinese trains can also have such a dining environment.

Love your videos all the time! There is a food hall next to the station called The Bridge. There you’ll find a Japanese restaurant Tokyo Express. It has a nice seating by the window on 2nd level with the great vantage point to watch all departing and arriving trains especially on winter days 😊.

Very beautiful Video. Thank you. I have often taken this Route from Prague to Zurich. This path is also interesting during the Day; but with a change in Dresden and Frankfurt. The Journey takes around 12 Hours. But this is definitely not a Problem for real Train Fans

why would there be a boarder control on the Austria - Slovenia crossing? always thought it was part of the Schengen zone... I can see the control from Switzerland being a thing, since that's a fully separate entity... but should this crossing not be unnoticeable like crossing between Spain and France or Germany & Denmark? have I always had the boarder of the Schengen wrong?

The ICN trains are currently in a modernisation program, it would be awesome to see an updated review once the first ones are in service!

Talk or text,either is fine. I just wish you had a little ding when the text changes on the text videos. I finf I have to pause and back up the video multiple times to read the text as I mossed something while concentrating on the video. I can't use a HUD when I'm driving for the same issue.
